The Youth and Church as Democratic Influencers
Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID), in collaboration with Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN), hosted a Civic Education workshop for pastors and youth leaders in Otjiwarongo. The overall objective of this workshop was to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to actively participate in Namibia’s democratic process. The workshop further aimed to examine the extent to which religious conviction should inform the exercise of political power. Religion makes valuable contributions to civic participation and religiously grounded beliefs should be fully welcome in political decision-making.
