Various groups from civil society organisations met with the visiting reviewers from France, Uganda, and the UNODC at the Anti Corruption Commission of Namibia to discuss UNCAC implementation in Namibia.
It was a good discussion covering a range of issues including the independence of the ACC, deficiencies in the ACC Act, whistleblowing, procurement, weaknesses in the judicial system, the lack of resources for civic education, the lack of transparency on party political finance and the declaration of assets/conflict of interest.
