The Belt & Road Initiative
The Namibia Institute for Democracy, Hanns Seidel Foundation and Institute for Public Policy Research met with representatives from the China Centre for Contemporary World Studies at the House of Democracy on the 30th of July 2018. The aim of this meeting was to establish how Namibian Think Tanks can collaborate with Chinese Think Tanks on the One Belt One Road initiative.
This initiative was presented as a plan to promote prosperity, enhance international relations and provide collaborative conditions for shared economic growth and wealth. Discussions explored how Namibian Civil Society Organizations can leverage relations with China to identify specific business opportunities under this initiative. China’s One Belt, One Road outbound investment strategy presents a wealth of opportunity along major global land and maritime trade routes.
