The Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID), founded in 1991, implements civic education, civil society development, socio-political survey and research, and anti-corruption programmes in Namibia.
Same Same but different (SSBD)
Same Same but different (SSBD) is an initiative that brings together sixteen (16) young Germans and Namibians in a space where they can deal with the image of themselves and others; other cultures, discuss prejudices and discover commonalities. This particular group of Germans and Namibians will experience cultural differences and connecting elements between themselves and other's through different methods and common experiences.
The aim of the project is to promote empathy, understanding and mutual respect through exchange and encounter in accordance with the 16th UN Sustainable Development Goals " peace and justice". The project is about perceiving yourself and others, getting to know each other and overcoming stereotypes with the greatest possible participation of the participants. But above all it is about meeting people, experiencing new things and lots of fun. The result of the project will be made accessible to the broader public via a documentary and a book that will be produced at the end of the project.
