International Day of Peace
Namibia Institute for Democracy joined other African Delegates at the International Day of Peace Celebrations hosted in China this year. The International Day of Peace is observed around the world each year on the 21st of September. Established in 1981 by a United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to peace above all differences and to contribute to building a culture of peace. The foreign guests called for a peaceful environment for development, and a coordinated solution to deal with challanges such as the social divide between the rich and poor, prolitical extremism and global environmental changes.
