Civic Education for Learners Boot-Camp 2019
Namibia Institute for Democracy, in collaboration with Hanns Seidel Foundation, recently conducted a Civic Education Boot Camp at Rock Lodge Training Center. The main objective of the boot camp was to provide the learners with an in-depth understanding of Namibia’s governance process and structures, to teach the pupils how to think critically and independently, and to create informed youth who act as drivers of Namibia’s democratic process.
The boot camp took place on the 5th – 7th of April 2019, and was attended by a total of 20 learners from Immanuel Shifidi, Andreas Shipena and Hage Geingob secondary schools.
The content of the Civic Education Boot Camp included the Namibian Constitution, democratic values, youth democratic institutions, the role, rights and responsibilities of citizens, elections and advocacy.
