| This Who’s Who lists nearly 200 key players in Namibian politics and is based on the A to Z of Political Personalities featured in the Guide to Namibian Politics, which is published by NID. The list concentrates on elected politicians – MPs from the National Assembly and National Council, and Regional Governors – but also includes top officials from political parties, election officials, leading trade unionists, key figures in the church, media and other civil society groups, and business people who wield political influence and help shape public policy decisions. This list is not exhaustive and there are doubtless those passed over who will prove to be political forces in the near future. Others included are political veterans who may soon give way to a younger generation. The entries are based on CVs and questionnaires received from many of the individuals listed and research drawing on a wide range of newspaper and magazine articles, website listings, and books published on Namibia’s recent political history.
