|Shifeta, Pohamba Penomwenyo - Swapo|
|Pohamba Shifeta was appointed Deputy Minister of Youth, National Youth Service, Sport and Culture in March 2005.
Shifeta was the Secretary General of the National Youth Council (NYC) from 1997 until he joined parliament in 2005. The NYC is an umbrella group consisting of over forty Namibian youth organisations
He is also a prominent SPYL activist having been the SPYLs Secretary for Labour since 2002. He was placed at number 26 on the Swapo party list in 2004, ensuring him a seat in the National Assembly (NA).
Shifeta cut his teeth in politics as a campaigner for Namibia National Students Organisation (Nanso), which played a crucial role in the last years of the independence struggle. Shifeta was chairperson of the Nanso central region branch from 1988 to 1989. He went on to become Nanso President in 1994 (after the student movement disaffiliated from Swapo in 1991).
Shifeta was re-elected unopposed as NYC Secretary General in 2001, after his only challenger Maleachi Ilonga also of the SPYL was forced to pull out by Swapo.
Shifeta is a trustee of Pan-Afrikan Centre of Namibia (Pacon).
