In 2014, Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID) in collaboration with the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) and the Ministry of Regional and Local Government Housing and Rural Development (MRLGHRD) worked on several projects.
European Union & MRLGHRD: Survey on Regional Council, Programme aimed at strengthening the interaction between communities, local & regional authorities through the respective development committees.
Hans Seidel Foundation: Political Party Training, under these project political parties in Namibia was trained, with the aim of promoting multi-party democracy.
USAID: Youth Leadership for Democracy Participation in Namibia program. The purpose of this project is to increase the political involvement of the youth in Namibia by training young leaders in civic and political issues. Therefore, 260 observers from all 14 regions in Namibia were trained and observed the 2014 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
UNICEF: Social Accountability Project, is a pilot project aimed to support the development of democratic participation among the youth, and to gather information on issues and problems that the youth feel interfere with their learning in their school environment.
UNDP, German Embassy & Hans Seidel Foundation: Conversations Connecting Communities. Conversations Connecting Communities is a public platform that provides regular discussions with the aim of sharing knowledge, airing opinions discussing varying views to promote active citizenship and public participation in the governance process .The speakers contribute in their capacity as active citizens.
