I Vote Namibia

The NID has created a youth-friendly social networking site (SNS) to promote the values of citizenship and civic participation and help give young Namibians a platform to voice their opinion. As civic educators, youth are encouraged to report on the daily issues in their community and to share them with their peers and elsewhere in Namibia through the use of social media and this community page.

This will allow for a truly democratic interaction and exchange of information on two levels: (1) between young citizens and (2) bottom-up networking between the youth and their elected officials.

With the consistent and meaningful involvement of the youth, sufficient public pressure will be created to hold the elected candidates accountable by assessing whether they stick to their pre-election promises.
