Voter Education Training
Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID), in partnership with the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), recently hosted a Voter’s Education Programme for young people in Namibia. The overall objective of the programme was to educate the youth about the election process and the importance of voting, with a particular focus on the upcoming Regional Council and Local Authority Elections. The workshop further aimed to equip participants with facilitation skills, so that they can go out into their communities to raise awareness and empower other young voters. Majority of the registered voters in Namibia are young people. Hence, the goal of this intervention is to increase the voter turnout by encouraging the youth to participate in elections.
