NID Consult, as a separate division of the NID, is available as a local Namibian resource organization to assist international non-governmental, academic, training and service institutions to conduct programs in Namibia.  In this regard, we have experience in local and regional project design, implementation and coordination, research and surveys.  We have a history of implementing diverse multi-partner, multi-donor civic education, capacity building, training, research and technical assistance programs in Namibia on behalf of foreign institutions that include Namibia in their activities.  NID Consult can thus provide local expertise for international institutions, which also obviates the need for such institutions to keep up own infrastructure, personnel and offices in Namibia. 

Areas of expertise include the following:

• Namibian implementing partner for international development   projects conducted in Namibia.
NID Consult provides project implementation services in Namibia for international  development and non-governmental organizations that conduct programs in  Namibia.  Such services include all aspects pertaining to project  implementation including project design and planning, recruiting and staffing,  government liaison, training and technical assistance, project coordination, administrative and financial control, reporting and monitoring and evaluation.   NID has extensive experience in implementing projects according to the specific  requirements of donors such as USAID, SIDA, Finland, the Netherlands, the EU, the  Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy.   Projects typically relate to civic education, multimedia campaigns, implementation of  integrity systems, capacity building, training and technical assistance for civil society.

• Namibian partner organization for international cross-country surveys, research and studies on contemporary social and political issues in Namibia.
Such research is either conducted by in-house researchers, or facilitated by NID  Consult through a wide network of academic experts at Namibia’s tertiary institutions  and other research institutions in Namibia and abroad.   Areas of expertise are on socio-political topics pertaining to the following:
     · Anti-corruption
     · HIV/AIDS
     · Governance issues
     · Land issues
For example, a study on the role of HIV/AIDS on electoral systems was recently  completed as part of a Southern African regional study coordinated by the Institute  for Democracy in South Africa (IDASA).  NID Consult conducts the Namibian survey  for the World Governance Assessment that measures  perceptions of governance in  18 countries on an annual basis and acts as a local partner for InWEnt.

• Capacity-building programs to local organizations and public institutions.
NID Consult currently provides training and technical assistance packages to 72 local  NGOs, CSOs and other civic institutions in the following areas:

     ·  workplace ethics/anti-corruption
